OMG… I just wanted to say thank you. For months I have been reading and investigating this thing called polyamory. I am mono in a mono with a poly relationship. I have read countless advice, stories, books, blogs, you name it. Many of them have one or two similarities to what I feel and think and have questions about and and and but your story of his “coming out” to you and the feelings and questions… Exactly the same questions and thoughts I have. Our stories are very similar. I too am at a stage where I am open to the idea but with so many things I need before I can make the decision to jump in or move on. I so look forward to reading your journey as you share it.

I was so surprised to find other people in forums and communities who had the same questions, fears, and freak outs as I have. It’s always encouraging to see that we’re not alone. When I started this blog, I thought its purpose would just be to help me organize my thoughts so I could work through some of these issues. The best result, though, has been the outpouring of comments, support, and recommendations that people in the poly community have offered me. Thanks for reading and commenting, and all the best for you and your partner on your journey.

Hi Grace,
I just discovered your blog today, and I like your writing. I look forward to reading your older posts and sharing them with my poly family, which is taking some baby steps toward reforming after a year-long breakup. You can read about my adventures in the Big Apple on my blog. Good luck to you and Holden!

Hey there Grace. I just wanted to let you know that I am also a mono being thrusted into a poly world that a couple months ago I didn’t know existed. Your blogg has made me feel like I wasn’t alone. I hope you will read my brand new blogg http://www.torturedpineapple.com. It has helped me so much. Just writing out my thoughts is more therapeutic than I would have guessed. I hope we can grow stronger and perhaps help each other out from time to time. I got a long way to go so thanks for all the resources here and for sharing your story.

Grace,
I just read a book called “Open Marriage - A New Life Style for Couples” by Nena & George O’Neil. It was published in the 70’s and has a couple chapters on gender roles, but aside from that it is an amazing read. I talks quite a bit about the psychological state you would need to possess to embrace polyamory. It also walks through interviews of different couples at different stages of closed/open marriages. Good book; I think you would enjoy it.
